Christmas was WONDERFUL to us! God is good! Having everyone in town for the holidays is always fun! I got to see my dad and Sharon, and they stayed with us, so we enjoyed their company even more! On the 23rd, I made breakfast for Stacy and fam, Grandpa and Joan, Dad and Sharon, Jenny, and Rod and I. I made the MOST DELICIOUS pancakes ever! Nothing better than suger, buttermilk, sour cream, and flour all mixed together. After a mound of pancakes and a container of syrup, we were COMATOSED.
After Christmas, we were back to work....in SLOW motion! Rod and I just went for our four week appointment. Everything looks good so far. BEST news of all...I only gained 4 lbs the past four weeks, which included the holidays! Baby Tootle's heart beat was 150 bpm! Nice work, kiddo!
If you know me at all, you know I can't decide on anything. I'm in a constant state of deciding. Well, Rod and I have changed the Tootletot's name AGAIN. We really like this one. As Melanie Sturm would say, "We are done and done."
RYAN DONOVAN TOOTLE
RYAN TOOTLE
Doesn't that sound nice?!?!
Hope you all have a blast for New Year's Eve! I'll be lounging around...hopefully in comfy cotton pants, next to a fire!
Love to all!

Christmas Time at the Tootles

Here's what's going on in our lives! Enjoy our Christmas tree! We love it, and don't want to ever take it down!
Mattie Sue is in town for a whole week, without Mommie!!!! She's doing great, and having a ball at Grandma's house. I think she's just excited to see her Auntie Jessica. She's pointed at my belly and said "baby"! So precious. I love her to pieces and just want to eat her up!

The Gender has been Determined!!!
Looks like our little Tootletot is a BOY!!!!
Rod and I were both SHOCKED, and THRILLED!! We just knew we were having a girl. Finding out was such a fun surprise for both of us. The baby is healthy and just now fitting snuggly in the womb. He weighs 7 ounces! 17 weeks and two days. So, this will be the first baby boy in our family!
We're still working on names. So far, Gavin Donovan is our name of choice! It will most likely change, but hopefully not. I really like this one!

Bump Watch

Here is a beloved photo of "The Bump". Take note of the fat roll on my back. I like to call that "extra skin". I'm feeling great, and just counting down the minutes until Dec. 11th. NOTE: this photo was taken at work by my dear friend Jan. Eric, I promise I'm working. Now that we got a camera, I'll try to send out pics more frequently. Next post will be with pics of our Christmas tree and mantle. I LOVE it, and seriously don't know that I'll be able to take it down.

All is Well in the Tootle Household
Hello to All!!! As most of you know, Rod had his shoulder surgery yesterday morning. Everything went well. The doc found a second tear for which he repaired. Once we got home, both of us slept all day long. Getting up at 5am, in the frigid cold, doesn't fly with us.
While Rod was in recovery, I had a doctor's appointment. I hated to leave Rod, but really wanted to make sure all was well with the Tootlebug. And, yes everything is moving along fine. The nurse measured my belly and we listened for the heartbeat. Belly measures 16 centimeters, which would make me 16 weeks (yep, 4 months completed...right on schedule). And, the heartbeat was perfect. She seemed to think its beats were between 140 and 150 bpms. She gave me some acne cream to put on my hormonal explosion that has taken over my once clear skin. Ohhh, do I love my doc.
I'm getting a camera for Christmas! We hope to get it next week, but maybe I can get Rod to get it this weekend. As soon as we get it, I'll take another "bump watch" (thanks Krissy) picture.
We put up our Christmas tree and decorated our mantle. I don't ever want to take it down. Its soooo warm and cozy in our house. Our stockings are hanging, and soon we plan to put a pink or blue stocking on the mantle as well!!! (Dec. 11th we find out....lets all hope the baby is in the right direction for us to take a peek).
Happy holidays and love to all of you!

HAPPIEST TURKEY DAY TO YOU!!!
We are so thankful for our friends and family, and wish we could spend the holiday with everyone of you! Hope your turkey day fills your belly, and brings lots of laughs! I know this holiday season will be hard for some of our friends, so our prayers for them will be for laughter at Jana's, and happy memories of all the fun holidays in the past. Love you all.

Malyn has Arrived!!!!
At 10:02 (California time), Malyn Grace was born!
7 lbs 9 ozs
21 inches
Dark, curly hair, and lots of it.
Stacy is doing great. She pushed three times, and poof! Mom said stacy isn't tired as much as she's hungry! (hunger is a pretty strong trait in our family).
Mattie Sue is now a big sister!!!! We'll soon find out how she copes with the new addition!

Malyn's Progress!
Well, as of 1:00pm, after Stacy's doc appointement, she was 1.5 centimeters. The doc did a little "stripping" to help her along, and believes she'll head to the hospital in the next 24 hours. Mom is there with her, and Mattie Sue is at Mother's Day Out. Wasn't too long ago, that Mom was dropping Stacy and I off at MDO. Prayers to Malyn and Stacy!!! I'll continue updating you all with the progress (minus the gory details).

SA Weather was Beautiful!!!!
This weekend was full of outdoor activity, which was really nice for a change. I finally have energy to get out and about. Friday night, I took my friends (my friend Amy surprised me by flying down with Dana) to El Jarro!! Marisa showed up and we sat outside and enjoyed the awesome weather!
Saturday, Dana and I went to a conference. I introduced her to Las Palapas for which she LOVED her potato and egg, and as always, I adored my bacon and egg. (Only a pregnant woman would post all her eating habits on a blog). After the conference, we went to Bigz to get a burger and shake. Excellent burger!
Sunday, Rod, Jenny and I went to the San Antonio Marathon!!! CONGRATULATIONS HINK!!!!! Our good friend ran the race, and did awesome! Ole' preggos here ran maybe a fourth of a mile with him....my first bit of exercise since being declared pregnant. :) Last night, I got super sick, and I'd like to blame it on the exercise. :) I should probably ease up. ha.
OHHHHH, most exciting news....while eating lunch at the club (outside) with my folks, grandpa and Jenny, I felt the "butterfly" that everyone talks about. Yep, I felt the baby move! Haven't felt it since. No, I wasn't gassy or anything. It was pretty cool. Ready to feel more!
Cindy and Dennis gave baby Tootle the CUTEST, softest, huggable sheep that lays flat on the floor (or anywhere) and the baby can lay on it! Rod and I wish we had an adult sized one for us! I had to put it away b/c he and I would lay on it all the time! Its really the sweetest thing. It got me super excited to hold the little tootlebug. I love this child so much already and haven't even met him/her. (Again, I think its a her).
Stacy is starting to have contractions. Last night, they were 10 minutes apart. So, please keep her and baby Mayln in your prayers! Mattie Sue has a cold...I think she needs her Auntie. I'll definitely be posting Mayln pics as soon as I get them!!!!

Not too much going on in the Tootle world. Grandpa is in town, so we've been going out to eat and enjoying his company. Always a joy to see him. We have a good friend from Dallas coming into town for a conference this weekend. Very excited to see Dana!!!! We'll definitely be heading out for some good Mexican grub. El Jarro or La Fonda on Main...haven't decided.
We had our first maid clean our house today!!! Hopefully Rod will like it so much that we get on a regular schedule! :) I'm enjoying my excuse of "I'm pregnant, I can't use some of the cleaning products."
I got my first pregnancy gift in the mail! Sweet surprise from Kimmy!!! Thank you Kim. Its a t-shirt that says "What's kickin'" with two little feet on it. Super cute, and I'll probably where it tomorrow! Rod got his 208th golf toy in the mail today, so now he doesn't feel left out. He's the happiest kid on the block.
Hope this "post" finds you well. Much love.

Tootletot's Favorite Niece!!!

Tootletot just wouldn't be complete without a pic of our favorite niece!!!! This is her Halloween pic. I believe she was at a Fall Festival in her home town of El Segundo. Stacy, correct me if I'm wrong. She was the cutest cowgirl in all the land! Oh, the cowboy hat was off seconds after putting it on. Check out her new cowboy boots. Yeehaw, Sue!

2nd Prenatal Visit -
Today's visit went well. Just did the typical urine sample, and the doc gave me another sonogram!!!! Doctor said we have a "pretty" baby. Do they say that to everyone?!?! The little Tootlebug was just movin' around, waving its buttocks in the air. At one point, it seemed like she/he was trying to swim....legs were kicking all over the place. Nope, I don't feel a thing!
Dr. stated that we should know the sex of the Tootlebug on Dec. 11th. She kindly, with a little begging from me, set up a 2 week appointment (after my next, regular appointment) to come back in and "sex" this child before Christmas! Grandmas need to know! I NEED TO KNOW! I think its a girl. Sorry Rod.
Yesterday, Nov 2nd, Rod and I went to a first trimester screening to check for Downs, and other conditions that could be potentially harmful to the baby. (See photo of our superhero - Spiderman, or a Mexican wrestler). So far, everything is checking out just fine. That appointment was our first time to see the baby in "baby form" and jumping around on my uterus, like I was a trampoline. Pretty incredible.
Next visit is Nov. 30th! (remember, no sono this appointment, so I won't know the sex)
WELCOME TO TOOTLETOT!
Welcome to our blogspot! With constant updates to our house, and our baby news, I thought we should conquer the world of "blogging". Rod never thought we'd become "bloggers", but here we are today...joining the rest of the world. I'm not even sure I'm using the right terminology for this. I definitely don't understand the whole concept, but figure it is time to jump on board. So, bare with us. We'll get the hang of it.
